3 reasons to re-evaluate re-sealable packaging
Recloseable packaging can help increase shelf life and reduce food waste while providing physical (and acoustic) interactivity to the bag.
Resealable packaging for beverages has been in development for many years. The first screw-cap bottles appeared in the 1970s.

The current trend is to apply limited closing methods. It is the lid and the container of the packaging that is difficult or impossible to separate. This is to ensure that the caps remain attached to the packaging even after use. At the same time, the lid that sticks to the packaging also prevents the lids from becoming garbage.
Today's consumers increasingly expect food packaging that can be re-sealable. There are three main reasons why consumers tend to do this. Those reasons are as follows:
Consumers can save money with resealable packaging
With food, packaging can prevent lipid oxidation and change moisture. Along with that, it prevents microorganisms from infecting and growing while maintaining the same smell and taste. As a result, the food will be able to be preserved for a longer time. The closure is given to the packaging the ability to preserve food leftovers after use.
Some studies show that, in a product line between brands, consumers will switch to products with re-sealable packaging.

Initially, this feature was only available on the packaging of high-end food lines. But as food prices increase, this feature is also integrated into affordable food. The study also found that for high-value meats with re-sealable packaging, only 9% of meat is wasted after being purchased.
Consumers also commented quite a lot on how to close the packaging. There are peel-and-stick packaging, lids on meat trays, or semi-rigid cans (semirigid) that can keep meat fresh
Types of Resealable Packaging Today
There is no reason not to introduce locking measures to packaging by 2022. There are now many closing methods that can be applied to many different types of packaging and materials.
Simple packages may have tape/glue as the locking mechanism. More complex, multi-layered packages can incorporate more effective locking mechanisms such as Zipper, Easylock, or Press-Lock.
Businesses can also change the packaging material to get locking mechanisms. These can be mentioned as Twist close (simply twisting the layers of material can self-tighten), Food N Seal, or pressure-sensitive adhesive layer.
Satisfying the needs and desires of consumers is a big challenge for the Packaging Industry. And repackaging solutions are one of the best solutions against food waste today. For businesses and retailers, this is also a great way to increase customer base
